Objectives
The objectives of the event are to:
- Provide insights into the status of women in the STEM fields in the US
- Encourage and support women involved in all aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
- Inspire young women to pursue studies and a career in the STEM fields
- Provide a forum for networking
- Applaud men’s support of their mothers, wives, daughters, sisters and students
Our distinguished panelists will share their professional journeys and their words of wisdom from their first-hand knowledge of the subject.
Format
The moderator will open the discussion by introducing each panelist and giving them the opportunity to further introduce themselves. This will be followed by a short presentation on the status of women in the STEM fields using empirical evidence. A set of questions will be used to generate dialogue. Each panelist will have the opportunity to respond to questions and if they wish, to add to what has been contributed already by the other panelists. The moderator will then open the floor to questions from the audience to the panel.
Refreshments and snacks will be served.
This is a complimentary event, but prior registration is required for access to the building.
