The Association of Greek American Professional Women (AGAPW) has been recently formed as a not-for-profit organization operating under Section 402 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of the State of New York and is independently run by Greek American women.

The mission of AGAPW is to provide a forum for Greek American professional women to share their unique talents and skills with each other, in order to expand their opportunities for professional development and to promote community and leadership building.

It will do so by forging collaborations among its constituents and by establishing partnerships with other organizations, both within and outside of the Greek American community.

To this effect, AGAPW will initiate and facilitate educational activities such as workshops, seminars, lectures, conferences, scholarships and internship opportunities for Greek American professional women.

The founding Board of Directors of AGAPW are: Olga Alexakos, Ph.D. – President, Sophia Catsambis, Ph.D. – Vice President/Treasurer and Effie Lekas, MBA – Vice President/ Community Liaison.
