NEW YORK – The Association of Greek American Professional Women (A.G.A.P.W.) will be hosting a Celebration of Women’s History Month, in the presence of the Consul General of Greece Hon. Georgios Iliopoulos and the Consul General of Cyprus Hon. Koula Sophianou.
We are proud to announce that AGAPW’s 2013 Greek American Woman of the Year honoree is Assemblymember Aravella Simotas. Assemblymember Simotas will be awarded AGAPW’s signature Greek American Woman of the Year Award in acknowledgement of her contributions to our State, to women’s rights, and to our community.
An Excellence Tuition Scholarship of $3,000 will be awarded in honor of Assemblymember Simotas. The 2013 Scholarship winner is Ms. Vaia Trittas of New York University. Ms. Trittas will speak on “The Contributions of Greek American Women to Our Country and the Greek American Community.”
Vocalist Flora Kirou will perform songs by Greek composers Theodorakis and Hadjidakis.
Master of Ceremonies: Ms. Alexandra Kavouras of Queens College, CUNY, AGAPW’s 2012 Excellence Tuition Scholarship recipient.
